Exploring Students' Experiences in Study Abroad and Study Away Programs

This study explores students' experiences in two University of Washington summer programs: an Italy study abroad and a Lopez Island study away. Ten students were interviewed, and the data was analyzed using inductive thematic analysis. Four themes are identified: community engagement, peer relationships, learning journey, and personal growth.
