Danny Parra is the Associate Director of International Admissions and Recruitment at both the University of Redlands and Woodbury University. With nearly 15 years of experience in international higher education, he has played a key role in fostering global engagement and expanding international enrollment.
Previously, Danny served as the Director of Strategic Projects for Internationalization at the Escuela de Gobierno y Transformación Pública at Tec de Monterrey in Mexico. In this role, he developed and managed strategic partnerships with foreign governments and NGOs to promote international consulting and research opportunities for faculty and students. He also led outreach initiatives to attract international candidates, increase enrollment, and support the Dean in identifying trends and opportunities for the school’s internationalization efforts through historical data analysis.
Danny’s career spans various institutions, including The Illinois Institute of Art, where he worked in admissions; the University of Chicago, where he served as a Designated School Official (DSO) in the Office of International Affairs; and the Institute of International Education (IIE) and New York University Abu Dhabi, where he was a Senior Outreach Officer. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that enhance global mobility and student recruitment.
Beyond higher education, Danny is the co-founder and editorial director of 7Vientos Press, an independent bilingual publishing house dedicated to translating and publishing contemporary literature. His work in publishing has earned him grants and recognition for promoting Mexican cultural exchange.
As a first-generation college graduate, Danny understands the transformative power of education and is committed to expanding access to global learning opportunities. Fluent in Spanish and English, with conversational Portuguese, he continues to drive cross-cultural collaboration, education, and innovation in international enrollment management.
