Sam Brown is the Director of International Student and Scholar Services at Brigham Young University (BYU). Prior to his appointment in this office, he did public affairs work for BYU and spent several years as an advisor in Campus Life. Dr. Brown received his doctoral degree from Brigham Young University in Educational Leadership and Administration. His research focus is intercultural trust and propensity to trust, and he has conducted research and published extensively in this area both in the U.S. and abroad. He has also earned BA, MPA and MS degrees from BYU and Kansas State University, respectively. Dr. Brown has lived overseas and loves working with students and scholars from all backgrounds. He has served on both the regional and national levels of NAFSA Association of International Educators, including as a Regional Liaison, Treasurer, and Chair for Region II, and as the National Chair of the International Student and Scholar Services Knowledge Community, and Chair of the 2022 international conference.
