Jennifer Murphy, Ph.D., is a professor of criminal justice at Penn State Berks. Her research and teaching interests explore and analyze drug policies, stigma toward people who use drugs, and the treatment for substance use disorder within the criminal justice system. Her recent publications examined stigma among police officers toward people who use drugs and their perspectives on harm reduction policies. She is currently working on a project that examines the contemporary role of drug courts as part of state and federal drug policies. She has organized embedded courses where students study comparative drug and health policies in the Netherlands and Portugal.
