Uchenna P. Vasser is the Director of Slang Global and professor of Spanish at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Vasser earned a doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her areas of research and scholarship include Latin American literature, Afro-Latin studies, identity discourse, gender and representation, women and the environment, transculturation, and cultural hybridity.
