Shanza Qureshi has been working in international education for over ten years. With extensive
experience in career services, academic exchanges and post-secondary admissions, she is a staunch
advocate for global education and for the constructive role international students play in the United
States in broadening perspectives on campus and in the workplace. Currently, Shanza is the Associate
Director of Graduate Careers at Georgetown University Law Center, where she manages professional
development for foreign and domestic attorneys. Previously, she worked at American University, where
Shanza administered career programs, regulatory compliance and intercultural programs for
international students, Fulbright scholars, faculty, and the greater university community. Prior to moving
to the nation’s capital, Shanza lived in New York City developing and conducting professional workshops
on cross-cultural competence for higher education administrators. Moreover, she has managed
EducationUSA programs and Fulbright outreach in Islamabad, Pakistan, in collaboration with the Bureau
of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. She continues her research on
diverse issues confronted by international students in the United States and has presented her research
titled, “Sociocultural Challenges of Fulbright Scholars: The Case of a New Metropolitan University", at
academic and professional conferences including NAFSA: Association for International Educators. Shanza
holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a
Masters in International and Comparative Education from Teachers College Columbia University.
