WS21: F-1 Advanced Case Studies: Navigating Regulatory Gray Areas and Uncertainty

Build confidence to navigate complex F-1 immigration cases by exploring case studies, participants learn to work through the gray matter of F-1 regulations. Trainers draw on the hierarchy of authority and share advising best practices. Participants leave with a deeper understanding of immigration regulations. (Please note that this workshop is not for beginners; to gain this most from their participation, attendees must understand core F-1 regulatory matters and guidance.)

Learning Objectives:

Explore advanced F-1 student case studies with real-life examples of complex situations; consider regulations and guidance, hierarchy of authority, institution policies, and advising best practices.
Gain confidence in researching complex case studies and learn how to interpret the "gray areas" of F-1 regulations.
Implement new advising best practices with their international student and scholar services teams.
