Purpose and Impact: International Strategies for Leveraging Alumni Communities

This session examines how universities in Australia, Europe, and North America can successfully engage alumni as institutional partners, advisers and supporters. Attendees explore effective strategies and programs to maintain strong and purpose-driven alumni connections that enhance student experience and support strategic institutional goals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key goals and strategies for engaging alumni - beginning with enrollment, continuing through studies, and extending into professional careers – that build community and foster a sense of belonging pre and post-graduation.
  • Design programs that leverage alumni networks to enhance current students' academic and professional experiences and foster mentorship, internships, and job placements.
  • Leverage successful alumni engagement strategies to advance institutional goals and enhance the institution’s reputation and impact.
  • Evaluate the impact of sustained alumni relationships on university development, identifying best practices for encouraging alumni to contribute to the institution’s growth through donations, volunteer work, and advocacy.
