Internationalization in Times of Crisis

Learning Objectives:

• Examine the critical role of higher education institutions in building resilience through internationalization and partnerships. Universities have a moral responsibility to support academic communities in coping with crises, sustaining relationships, and offering solidarity. Establishing a response network that leverages international connections and resources to address global challenges is a central component of the internationalization agenda.
• Develop strategies and best practices to address challenges and maintain academic continuity during adversity. Participants will gain insights into leveraging international partnerships to design and implement a comprehensive response plan that includes both academic and administrative support such as exchange programs, joint projects, volunteer assistance, local relief initiatives, as well as creating alternative solutions for displaced members.
• Analyse case studies of institutional collaboration during recent geopolitical conflicts to illustrate how partnerships facilitate resource and expertise sharing. Explore academic and administrative solutions for affected members and strategies for continuing research, teaching and service activities. Presenters from Ukrainian, Israeli, and German institutions will share specific examples from their experiences in addressing regional crises.
