This session explores diverse institutional partnerships between entities in the Middle East and North Africa and the United States, from formal agreements to opportunistic collaborations. Case studies from Jordan, Morocco, Qatar, & Saudi Arabia highlight strategies, challenges, and benefits. Participants learn how to foster meaningful collaborations for mutual growth and understanding.

Learning Objectives:

  • Uncover practical approaches for establishing successful international relationships between higher education institutions, sponsored student organizations, and national initiatives in the MENA region. Create strategic entry points for expanding agreements that enhance reach, enrich academic experiences, and foster cross-cultural understanding.
  • Develop innovative strategies for building partnerships and attracting international students in the MENA region, including digital outreach and cross-cultural engagement.
  • Analyze best practices from the successful models presented that include informal agreements (UW–Madison) and formal partnerships (Rawabit). Identify potential paths, common pitfalls, and actionable steps to initiate collaborations.
