Data analysts in global engagement portfolios use their technical skills to employ best practices, identify novel technologies, and provide unique solutions for data challenges. This session, applicable to any institution, spotlights key insights of four data analysts and how their work supports operational efficiencies and strategic decision-making.

Learning Objectives:

  • Analyze the skills and abilities outlined in the "Data Collection and Analysis" professional competency by examining specific data challenges and solutions from these institutions. Attendees will learn how the institutions overcame obstacles and successfully integrated data analytics into their operations.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of how to leverage data sources for data-driven decision-making, focusing on identifying relevant data points and asking the right questions. Attendees will gain insight into telling a compelling story with data and learn how to determine what data is needed to achieve their goals. Attendees will leave with actionable questions to guide data selection at their home institutions.
  • Apply data visualization tools to create impactful dashboards for leadership, trend analyses for internal units, and reports for external communications. Attendees will learn diverse methods to effectively communicate data, measure outcomes, and inform stakeholders, ultimately driving their global portfolio and institutional success.
