The Amandla Project: Removing Barriers to Education Abroad for Students with Mobility Disabilities

Through a lively chat between The Amandla Project's founder, Alex Stone and Amandla Project board member/film actor Siv Ngesi, you will learn about what inspired the program and hear about one of the students traveling in the June cohort. Through discussion of Stone's journey to South Africa as an undergrad with cerebral palsy, you'll learn about some barriers faced by students with mobility disabilities in the pursuit of education abroad. An overview of The Amandla Project will provide examples of a barriers removed by the program for students with mobility disabilities. We'll also feature some success stories from the recent cohort of Amandla Fellows. Elements discussed could be incorporated into attendee's programs.
