Dr. Stella Rwanda, Ph.D., is the Director of the Healthcare Advancement Resource Center (HARC) at Le Moyne College. A former Literacy and English as a New Language (ENL) professor, she has over a decade of experience in higher education and the non-profit sector, specializing in grant-funded programs and workforce development for internationally trained medical graduates (IMGs).
Born and raised in Kenya, she began her academic career at Kenyatta University before earning a Ph.D. in Literacy Education from Syracuse University, where she was named the William D. Sheldon Fellow. Her research focuses on literacy education, integrated medical education, and multicultural and refugee education.
Dr. Rwanda has worked with UNESCO and INEE to support refugee and immigrant education globally. Her scholarly work has earned international recognition, and she recently completed a leadership certificate from Cornell University through NYATEP’s Workforce Acceleration Institute for Leaders of Color.
