Senior International Scholar Advisor

Christine Sampankanpanich, MPA is a Senior International Scholar Advisor at the University of California, San Diego. As a scholar advisor, she supports departments, faculty, and scholars on immigration matters, including J-1 and H-1B sponsorship. She also serves as the university’s primary liaison for outside immigration attorneys assisting with permanent residency cases. Originally from Los Angeles, Christine moved to San Diego to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Literature-Writing at UC San Diego. After graduation, she worked as a paralegal at a global immigration law firm, specializing in employer-based immigration. While working full-time, she earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Christine spent seven years as a Faculty and Scholar Immigration Advisor at San Diego State University before transitioning to her current role at UC San Diego. In her free time, she enjoys watching TV, reading, and spending time with her husband and two young children.
