Head of Global Office

Johannes Müller is Head of Global Office, Goethe University Frankfurt, holds a PhD in “History and Civilization” from the European University Institute (Florence/Italy), having studied Contemporary History, Political Science and Romance Philology at the Universities of Frankfurt and Cologne (MA).
From 2007 to 2023 he worked for the University of Cologne, among others building the “Welcome Centre for International Scholars”, heading the Department “International Science” and establishing the “Refugee Scholars Service”. 2016-2023 he acted as member of the steering committee of the German Section of “Scholars at Risk”. In 2023 he joined Goethe University Frankfurt as director of the Global Office, continuing his commitment for Scholars at Risk and developing exchange and cooperation with partners in Israel - and the the rest of the world. Johannes is also a lecturer in Modern and Contemporary History, specialized on European, German and Italian History.
