Executive Director of International Advancement
University of Rochester
Aamir Anwar serves as the executive director of international advancement at the University of Rochester. Previously, he worked in similar roles at Babson College and at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), and also taught courses in cross-cultural management and intercultural communication at the H. John Heinz College at CMU. He also headed international education programs at Point Park University and Robert Morris University. Additionally, he is a consultant in the areas of international advancement and fundraising, cross-cultural communication, cultural adjustment, and country/culture-specific orientation. Anwar holds a BA in international economics and statistics from Punjab University in Pakistan, and a BS in international business and an MA in organizational & intercultural communication from Pennsylvania Western University. He is also a doctoral candidate in higher education administration at the University of Rochester. His doctoral research focuses on the correlation between international student engagement and its impact on philanthropy. Anwar is well-traveled and speaks five languages.
