Director of the Research Centre for Regional Security based in Sumy State University. PhD in Political Science, Associate professor. Representative of Ukraine in the Program Committee "Public Safety for Society" of the Horizon Europe program (Brussels, Belgium). During 2020-2022 Dr. Nazarov worked as a scientific supervisor of an international project “Study the key security challenges in Eastern-South Ukraine and NATO-Ukraine relations in the region” (supported by NATO Public Diplomacy Division). As an analyst of the Center for Social research (Sumy State University) he conducted research on societal resilience in regions of Ukraine differently involved in the war.
Mykola Nazarov is a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the ICDS, with his focus on resilience, defence and security reforms, and Ukrainian war refugees. In 2021-23, he served as an expert in the framework of the Resilient Ukraine programme, led by the ICDS and supported by the Estonian Development Co-operation. He participates as an invited speaker in international conferences and seminars and frequently contributes to expert debates in Ukrainian and international media. He earned his PhD in political science from Kharkiv National University.
