Larisa Landry possesses a diverse professional background spanning the public, private, and international sectors, including experience at UNESCO. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and an MA in International Economics from The Diplomatic Academy in Moscow, as well as a Certificate in Public Administration from the Institute of Public Administration in Dublin. Having lived, studied, and worked in China, Ireland, and France, she possesses a global perspective that informs her work. Landry's expertise encompasses all aspects of international education program development, including custom program design, implementation, and assessment. Currently, she manages J-1 exchange and faculty-led programs worldwide at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL). Her dedication to student development and global competencies was recognized with a 2024 Staff Service Merit Award, following a significant 60% increase in UHCL's education abroad program participation between 2022 and 2024. She spearheaded the development of a comprehensive fundraising strategy for education abroad and scholar services, cultivating partnerships with organizations such as Bank of America, Mitsubishi, and Lonza. Prior to joining UHCL, Larisa co-chaired the International Employee Committee at the University of Texas Administration, fostering partnerships within the international community. At the Institute of International Education (IIE), she managed the ExxonMobil Russian Scholars Program, successfully increasing applications, reducing costs by 5%, and boosting web traffic by 30%. During her tenure at UNESCO, she administered programs aligned with the UN SDG 4, contributing to the Women in Science program. She is fluent in French, with basic German and Mandarin, and has extensive international experiences have enriched her professional outlook.
