Stephanie Hernandez currently serves as the Director of the International Services Office (ISO) at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. In her role, Stephanie leads a dedicated team that provides comprehensive support to faculty, staff, and students on complex immigration matters. She ensures institutional compliance by serving as a Designated School Official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and as an Alternate Responsible Officer with the U.S. Department of State.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Stephanie moved to Texas in 2007 and has since embraced her new home state with pride. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of North Texas and a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies from Southern Methodist University. With over a decade of experience working with international students, Stephanie is passionate about fostering a welcoming environment that celebrates the diverse customs and traditions students bring from around the world. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she is committed to making the international student experience in the U.S. as enriching and enjoyable as possible.
