Shara Cotton is a Senior International Student and Scholar Advisor at Duke University. With 6+ years of experience in this field, she strives to contribute to her campuses, receiving the Chancellor’s Creating Community Award for Outstanding Staff from NC State University in 2024. While pursuing her double major in International Business and Economics from Appalachian State University, Shara minored in Japanese and studied abroad at Kansai Gaidai University. Shara also holds a Master’s of Education in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she worked in social justice education and advocacy.
