With over 25 years of experience in the ISSS field, Mihwa is currently Associate Director of the Yale Office of International Students and Scholars, leading the advising team, developing the best practices, and guiding advisers and stakeholders on campus. Previously, she also worked at various higher education institutions, from a large public state school to a small liberal arts college to a large immigration law firm. She has held various NAFSA leadership positions, including serving as a KCISS Rep, a GRAC (Government Regulations Advisory Committee) member for Region XI, and a member of the International Student and Scholar Regulatory Practice (ISS RP) Committee - Travel and Student subcommittees. She is also a current TrainerCorp member and has served as a lead trainer for multiple CEPs to train NAFSA colleagues. She holds an M.A. in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University and has lived in three countries.
