Julie Baer is the Research and Learning Lead on IIE’s Research, Evaluation, and Learning (REL) Team, where she specializes in trends in international education mobility. With nearly a decade of experience, Ms. Baer coordinates research, provides programmatic insights, and engages with external clients, including the U.S. Department of State. She leads the Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange and manages IIE’s Snapshot Survey Series, offering critical insights for higher education institutions and stakeholders.
Ms. Baer's research focuses on historical analyses of international student data and the participation of underrepresented populations in international exchange. She has led significant reports and authored book chapters on these topics. A Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship recipient to Malaysia, Ms. Baer holds a Master of Education in International Education Policy from Harvard and a Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics from Centre College.
