Becky George is the Assistant Vice-Provost of Global Engagement & Senior International Officer at the University of California Santa Cruz. She holds leadership and administrative responsibility for the University’s global affairs including study abroad, student and faculty exchanges, international student and scholar services, and international partnership development, including advancement of international research collaborations and faculty engagement in partnerships abroad. She directs international strategic priorities for campus leadership, and provides oversight for the campus strategic plan for internationalization, working collaboratively with departments, divisions and other stakeholders across the university to advance global initiatives. Ms. George has a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from Portland State University in Oregon. She is a two time Fulbright Grantee (Mexico and Germany) and was selected as an English Language Specialist for the U.S. Department of State in the Dominican Republic. She has served as President of English USA and as Chair of the NAFSA Region XII Hawaii District. Ms. George has over 25 years working in international education, serving in previous senior international officer roles at the University of Washington and at the University of Hawaii.
