Associate Director of Global Engagement

Katie Sabo is the Associate Director of Global Engagement in the Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in French language and literature from the University of Arkansas and studied abroad in France. She began working in higher education in 2011 and served in several roles in the Office of Study Abroad as well as a lecturer of French. In her current role, she develops and manages the study abroad portfolio for the College of Arts & Sciences including faculty-led, study center and partnership programs, as well as advises students on program selection and scholarships. Katie also serves on university committees related to high impact practices and first generation college student support. She is an Advisor Ambassador for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program and coordinates campus outreach and advising for the Gilman scholarship. She also advises students applying for the Critical Language Scholarship Program and serves on campus committees for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Her professional interests center on increasing access and belonging for underserved student populations in education abroad.
