Joanna Regulska, vice provost and dean of Global Affairs and distinguished professor of gender, sexuality, and women’s studies at the University of California, Davis. With over 35 years of experiences in higher education, she developed and led large-scale international educational projects and programs that have transformed institutions, established new degree programs and collaborative partnerships, and substantially improved the delivery of internationally focused services to students, faculty, and staff. She initiated and led diverse partnerships projects in Europe (Central and Eastern, Western Europe), Central Asia and Caucus, Asia, and Latin America. For her contributions to the field of international education, she and the institutions she works with received Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization (Rutgers U (2014) and UC Davis (2020), and the APLU Comprehensive Internationalization Award (UC Davis 2020). She was awarded the First Institute of International Education SIOs of the Year Award (2019), was inducted to the National Academy of International Education (2021) and received Charles Klasek Award for Outstanding Service to the Field of International Higher Education (2022). In 2025, AIEA awarded UC Davis the 2025 Innovative Excellence in Internationalization Award for the institution’s work institutionalizing and advancing the 2030 Agenda and the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals through the UC Davis Sustainable Development Leadership Initiative (SDLI
She currently serve as the member of the Board of Directors and as the Vice President for Public Policy and Practice, NAFSA (WDC); as the Founding Member of the Board of the Foundation in Support of Local Democracy (Warsaw, Poland), as the member of the First International Advisory Board, University of Montpelier (Montpelier, France) as well as the President of the Board of Directors of the UC Davis-Chile Life Sciences Center (Santiago, Chile), among many other appointments.
