Associate Director, Student Advising & Counseling

Kathryn Gaylord-Miles has been in the field of international education for 15+ years, with experience in international student and scholar services, international enrollment management and teaching English to speakers of other languages. She is currently the Associate Director for Student Advising & Counseling at the University of Minnesota and serves as the IEL Representative for NAFSA Region IV. Kathryn has previously worked at Kennesaw State (GA), the University of Vermont, Penn State and the University of Michigan. She has presented at NAFSA annual and regional conferences on topics including managing an ISSS office, LGBTQIA+ inclusion in international education, Advocacy Day and collaborating with student health services. Kathryn holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in French and East European Studies and a master's degree from Penn State in Higher Education.
