Global Experiences Manager
Lancaster University
Paul Wood is the Global Experiences Manager at Lancaster University, UK, and oversees all the University short and long-term mobility opportunities for both inbound and outbound students. Paul first joined the Lancaster Global Experiences team in November 2021, initially managing the outbound Study Abroad programme. He played a key role in developing the Study Abroad degree programme for Lancaster students, transitioning it from an integrated component of the standard three-year Bachelor's degree to a four-year programme, where the Study Abroad year serves as an additional year. This change provided students with greater flexibility and helped diversify the Study Abroad cohort. In October 2024, Paul was appointed Global Experiences Manager, expanding his portfolio to include inbound exchange and fee-paying programmes (semester and/or full-year) as well as all short-term mobility programmes, including the Global Summer Schools which are held on Lancaster University's Bailrigg campus each summer.
Paul originally joined Lancaster University in 2018, working on projects within the UK Recruitment and Widening Participation teams to support access to higher education for students from underrepresented backgrounds. As a Lancaster University alumnus, Paul is passionate about the opportunities the University and the city offer - not only to Lancaster students, but also prospective students and staff from universities around the world.
