Global Study Abroad Manager

Katherine Mulfaul (BA in Humanities) is a Global Study Abroad Manager in University College Dublin (UCD) Ireland's Global University. Katherine has worked in international education at UCD since 2012. Initially working centrally in UCD Global, Study Abroad, from 2016 to 2022 she managed the First Year (Freshman) study abroad programme as well as the UCD Liberal Arts & Science undergraduate programme with a particular focus on North America. From September 2022, in her new position as Global Study Abroad manager, Katherine’s role is to develop and implement strategies for the University’s Non-EU and EU Study Abroad semester and summer programmes as well as re-engaging with well-established partners in the US and sourcing new study abroad opportunities for students. She also travels to the United States to attend NAFSA and the Forum on Education Abroad conferences. She attended university as a mature student, obtaining her BA (Hons) Humanities in History and Human Development, which lends itself to supporting students and developing study abroad programmes. Katherine earned her EAUC Certificate in Carbon Literacy, which added professionally to her long-standing interest in sustainability/sustainable practices.
