Adriana K. Smith is the author of "Studying Abroad for Black Women", a pivotal resource in promoting diversity, inclusion, and genuine equity for Black female college students pursuing international experiences in higher education. Currently, she serves as the Institutional Relations and Inclusion Manager at The School for Field Studies. Previously, she served as a Regional Director at AIFS Abroad and Assistant Director of International Programs at Presbyterian College consistently championing the disruption of inequitable student support systems, and striving to create environments where all students can thrive. In these roles, Smith partnered with U.S. university leaders to analyze feedback, identify trends, and implement key global DEI initiatives, providing comprehensive support and recommendations for inclusive policies and practices on campuses. For 8+ years, Smith has co-led presentations and sessions on conscious language, diversity initiatives, and content integrity challenging the controlling images of underserved populations across various media platforms, including but not limited to combating Global Anti-Blackness.
