Program Manager, Global Learning Abroad

Sally Roberts is a Program Manager for Global Learning Abroad at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). She works with colleges and schools at UMD on developing short-term faculty-led programs and their overall study abroad strategy. She also manages four semester-long programs in Italy, Denmark, and Sweden. As a senior study abroad advisor at UMD, Sally created a new internal system for reviewing Italian student visa applications for batch submission. She still oversees this process today, which successfully guides over 215 students through the Italian student visa process each year.
Prior to coming to Maryland, Sally worked in the study abroad offices at William & Mary and DePaul University, and taught English at a high school outside of Bangkok, Thailand. She has a B.A. in political science from Boston College and studied abroad at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. She earned her M.A. in international education from New York University, where she studied on short-term faculty-led programs in the Dominican Republic and South Africa.
