Head of Marketing & Recruitment MSc
Tilburg University
Over the past fifteen years, I have delved into various facets of marketing and communications, including advanced strategies, policies, techniques, and innovations. My initial background in IT (specifically database design) and subsequent transition to marketing and communications have allowed me to leverage my technical skills in my roles at several esteemed companies. Under the guidance of exceptional professors and managers, I have honed my analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, approaching challenges from multiple perspectives. This methodology has led to diverse solutions and, ultimately, more efficient and effective outcomes.
I have gained valuable insights into service and product marketing across different markets, levels, and target groups at companies such as Philips Semiconductors (now NXP) in Nijmegen (NL), Portelet Asia in Singapore, OHRA Insurances in Arnhem (NL), and YMOR IT Services in Utrecht (NL). The variety of tasks, the people I have collaborated with, and the dynamic environments in which I have marketed various products and services have deepened my interest in marketing and communications over the years.
In my current role at Tilburg University, I continue to expand my knowledge in this fascinating field. The increasing complexity of the sector, the demand for both qualitative and quantitative data, and the impact of political developments present challenges to marketing and communications in higher education. These challenges have motivated me to broaden my network and engage in intriguing studies to enhance my efficiency and effectiveness in my work.
