Based in Washington, DC, Ahmad Almasri, the Virtual EducationUSA Adviser for Syria, offers comprehensive virtual college counseling and guidance to Syrian students interested in studying in the U.S., helping them navigate the U.S. higher education system and take the next steps toward their academic future. Leveraging online communications and social media, Ahmad covers all five steps of the study in the U.S. process. Additionally, he supports U.S. higher education institutions looking to enroll Syrian students.
Before joining the EducationUSA network in July 2019, Ahmad served as a senior cultural affairs specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh. During this time, he administered cultural and academic exchanges between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, helping hundreds of students, teachers, scholars, and professionals from both countries establish long-lasting relationships. Ahmad also worked closely with EducationUSA Riyadh and supported thousands of Saudi students preparing for their studies in the U.S. Ahmad holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Damascus University. He also studied English and Computer Science in the United Kingdom.
