Rocío Navas, ABD, Program Manager, Madrid Study Center, University of California Education Abroad Program.
Rocío holds a BA in English Philology from the University of Cordoba (Spain) and is ABD in cognitive anthropolinguistics. She’s a certified teacher of English as a second language since year 1999 and started working as a teacher in private schools after graduating. During her last year at collage, she was recruited as a team member to work for the Industrial Technology Center of the University of Cordoba (Spain), in a multimedia project of teaching English as a second language for adults with disabilities. Her passion for the English language and travelling led her to complete a homestay summer program in Minneapolis, MN at age 18 which impacted her life forever. In 2001 she started working for the University of California Education Abroad Program as program assistant in Southern Spain, Córdoba and Cadiz. She’s been an UC employee abroad since then. She is currently the Programs Manager of the University of California Education Abroad Program in Madrid. Partner universities in Madrid include Carlos III University of Madrid and Complutense University of Madrid, hosting an average of 400 -500 UC students per year.
