Visionary and strategist, Abdoul Aziz SY is a key player in educational and economic development in Africa. With 16 years of experience, he has successfully combined innovation, leadership, and social impact to help shape a new generation of African talent.
He holds a Master of Science in Management from the University of London and has built his expertise through an international career spanning the United Kingdom, France, and Senegal. He began his career in finance, NGOs, and telecommunications before making a bold decision: to return to Senegal in 2010 and transform the educational landscape.
Upon joining Groupe Supdeco Dakar, he quickly rose through the ranks: Special Advisor to the CEO (2011–2015), Director of Corporate and International Relations (2015–2017), and Deputy CEO since 2017. Under his leadership, Supdeco Dakar has seen tremendous growth, becoming the leading independent business school in Francophone Africa (Jeune Afrique, 2021) and winning the AUF’s First Prize for Pedagogical Innovation in 2021. He also spearheaded the group’s expansion with new campuses in Thiès, Banjul, and Diamniadio, as well as a new flagship campus in Dakar, while strengthening the academic offering through ANAQSUP and CAMES accreditations.
Recognized for his leadership, Abdoul Aziz SY was elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2024 as First Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Senegal (AMCHAM Senegal). He plays a key role in attracting foreign investment and promoting American multinational companies in Senegal.
In 2024, he was named among the Choiseul 100 Africa, ranking him as one of the continent’s 100 most influential African leaders under 40.
A sports enthusiast, he is also a player agent and involved with the ASC Linguère football club of Saint-Louis, as well as an active member of the Senegalese Tennis Federation.
