Student Artificial Intelligence Ethics and Detection
Thursday, May 29, 2025
11:30 AM – 11:55 AM PST
Student usage of artificial intelligence (AI) has increased dramatically in recent years. This session addresses how students use AI, how educators can tell if students have used this technology, and why those working in international education should (or should not) care. Attendees develop skills in detecting AI-written material and learn to create a detection strategy specific to their organization’s needs.
Learning Objectives:
Learn about common “tells” found in text produced by AI, with a focus on signs likely to appear in study abroad-related material. Attendees will be provided with practice opportunities to hone their personal detection skills.
Develop an AI detection strategy specific to organizational needs and consider where student AI use affects operations the most.
