Transfer Turbulence: Tackling the Challenges of Initial F-1 Student Transfers

Transferring initial F-1 students can be complex and occasionally overwhelming for Designated School Officials (DSOs), especially during the first week of the term. Join us for an insightful discussion where we'll share our experiences, successes, and hurdles in managing these transfers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Overcome common hurdles encountered during the initial F-1 transfer process, including balancing the expectations of students transferring out with the needs of those arriving.
  • Develop innovative strategies to manage the transfer process efficiently.
  • Improve communication between DSOs and students and learn to set expectations and foster a smooth transition for students.
