Dr. Ojie-Ahamiojie is Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management program. He earned his Doctorate and Specialization degrees in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from Argosy University, in 2005; M. A. in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution from Salisbury University, in 2018; M.A. in Organizational Management and Human Resources Management from University of Phoenix, in 2000; and B.S. from University of Houston in Hospitality Management, 1998. He also a Certified Hospitality Educator from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), 2004.
Dr. Ojie-Ahamiojie is also A Fulbright Professional Fellow. He is the author of the books “Essential Leadership Skills for Hospitality Supervisors: An Experiential Approach,” and “Upward Mobility: Interviewing and Career Management.” He has published several articles on education and hospitality issues and attended and presented at many conferences and conventions nationally and internationally.
In 2019, he was recognized and given the “Worcester County of Maryland Drug and Alcohol Abuse Award for Outstanding Achievement in Prevention,” by the Worcester County Health Department. Governor Larry Hogan and Senator Chris Van Hollins of Maryland also presented him with citations for his work in Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention.
Dr. Ojie-Ahamiojie was awarded The UMES Second Annual Student Choice for Teaching Excellence Badge of Distinction for 2021-2022. He was awarded the “Partners in Excellence,” the highest award given by the Walt Disney Company for excellent performance, guest satisfaction, cast excellence, and business results. Also awarded “President Bill Tiefel Award” by Marriott International for quality service and guest service, and satisfaction.
Dr. Ojie-Ahamiojie has presented and published many articles and topics on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Why Students Cheat; Using Appreciative Inquiry (AI) to Provide Positive Feedback to Students; Leadership Behavior in Higher Education; Students as Customers; and other areas of higher education.
