Dr. Stephen Appiah-Padi is the Director of the Office of Global Education at Bucknell University. He has over 20 years’ experience in international education working with universities and colleges in Canada and the US. In his current position, he directs Bucknell University's study abroad programs and leads campus internationalization. He was the Director of the CIIE at Lansing Community College, Lansing, Michigan, and Adjunct Professor and Director of International Programs at Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa. He has presented at national conferences, including NAFSA, CIES, CCID, and NCORE. He served on NAFSA's Career Task Force and was a NAFSA Trainer Corps member, and served as Dean of the Foundations of Intercultural Communication Workshop. Stephen has also served in various volunteer leadership capacities including, Membership of the Leadership Development Committee (LDC), Chair of the Africa SIG, a partner of the NAFSA Africa Global Dialogue Fellowship Program, and a member of the Education Abroad Knowledge Community (EAKC) Team and served as Vice-Chair of the EAKC Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Committee. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of NAFSA. Dr. Appiah-Padi has many years of experience managing international education offices in two Liberal Arts Universities and a Community College, as well as developing and leading study abroad programs, particularly in Africa. He also works with faculty in the area of study abroad.
