Orlina Boteva is Director of International Programs at the University of Maine. Boteva oversees education abroad, international student and scholar services and the Intensive English Institute. She has 17 years of experience in international education. She holds an Education Specialist degree in Higher Education and two master’s degrees in Higher Education and History from the University of Maine. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education. Boteva served as the NAFSA Maine State Rep for 2014 - 2016 and a member at large for the NAFSA Leadership Development Committee (LDC) 2022-2023. She has presented at regional and national conferences on international education trends, risk management and education abroad topics.
