John Wilkerson, Ed.D.

John Wilkerson is the Associate Vice President for International Services at Indiana University, where he has led since July 2021. With over 15 years of experience in international education, John provides strategic oversight for multiple units within the Office of International Services, including Client Services, International Admissions, International Student and Scholar Advising, and Marketing and Communications. His work centers on meeting the diverse needs of international students and scholars, fostering a welcoming environment, and enhancing support services across all Indiana University campuses. John's leadership also extends to guiding the service and support provided by International Admissions and International Student and Scholar Advising at regional campuses within the university system.

John holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Global Educational Studies from the University of Southern California, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Counseling Psychology from Stephens College, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and Sociology from Columbia College. Prior to his current role, he served as Assistant Vice President for International Services and Executive Director of International Admissions at Indiana University and held key positions at the University of Missouri-Columbia, including Director of International Admissions and Director of Study Abroad for the Missouri School of Journalism. John's extensive experience in organizational development and international education is reflected in his roles at Columbia College and as Assistant Director of International and Graduate Admissions. He is dedicated to advancing global education and building inclusive, supportive environments for students worldwide.

John has also served in various volunteer leadership roles with the Council of International Schools, DET, International ACAC, NACAC, and NAFSA. He currently holds volunteer positions the College Board and IC3, further demonstrating his commitment to fostering global partnerships and enhancing international student experiences.
