Karen Bauer is the REAC: Regional Manager for the Middle East and Central Asia, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a career spanning over two decades, Karen has dedicated herself to advancing international education and fostering student mobility exchange in these regions. She manages the Middle East Gulf (Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE) and Central Asia (Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan), providing training and support to over 40 advisers in 13 EducationUSA advising centers. Before becoming a REAC, she was the senior EducationUSA adviser at the U.S. Embassy In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before working for EducationUSA, she was the Program Coordinator for Champlain College. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and History from Holy Names University and a Master in International Education from The School for International Training (SIT), in addition to an ESL teaching certificate from Notre Dame de Mar University and a specialized certificate in college counseling from the University of California-Los Angeles.
