ZF Visa & Immigration
Travis Feuerbacher is a former Career Foreign Service Officer with the United States Department of State. After learning Mandarin Chinese at the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute in Northern Virginia, Travis spent his first overseas assignment at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China. During his first year in Beijing, Travis interviewed tens of thousands of visa applicants from all over the world - a requirement for every new Foreign Service Officer. Travis spent his second year of the two-year assignment as the Staff Assistant to Ambassador Gary Locke, the US Ambassador to China, helping to plan and coordinate public appearances, official travel, and speaking engagements to promote US interests in the region.
After China, Travis was assigned to the U.S. Consulate in Matamoros, Mexico, where he managed the American Citizen Services Section, overseeing passport and citizenship operations and leading efforts to ensure incarcerated Americans were treated fairly, and he managed the Fraud Prevention Unit, where he led efforts to identify, investigate and combat visa and passport fraud. A lawyer by training, Travis returned to the practice of law as an Immigration Attorney afer leaving the Foreign Service. Together with his wife, Mandy, who is also a former U.S. Diplomat, they started their own law practice to help foreign nationals navigate through the complicated visa process. Travis often works with school administrators and other immigration attorneys to help them guide their students and clients through complex consular processing cases, including with issues such as Administrative Processing delays, waivers and previous denials.
