Dr. Maria del Carmen Paniagua has worked as a math professor at Ivy Tech Community College and as a researcher focused on Industrial Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she completed a MSc., Ph.D., and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Also, she has an Ed.D. (a.b.d) in Statistics Education from La Salle University and an MSc. in Statistics from Colegio de Postgraduados. She was the recipient of the Brumbaugh Award of the American Society for Quality for Best Technical Paper in 2007.
Dr. Paniagua joined the Fulbright-Hays in 2023 to Kenya and Uganda: “Teaching Environmental Issues and Sustainability in East Africa through a Social Justice Lens”. Professor Paniagua was the recipient of the American Institute of Indian Studies Fellowship-The University of Chicago “Deconstructing Sustainability and Poverty Indices” at Delhi Technological University in New Delhi from November 2023 to January 2024. She was awarded by CAORC-AIIS to India in 2020 Faculty Seminar “Exploring Urban Sustainability though India’s cities”, and by CAORC-ACMS 2024 to Mongolia: “Climate Change and Public Health: What does Climate Change Mean for the People of Mongolia?”
Dr. Paniagua is a Quality Matters Master Reviewer Higher Education since 2020, and she has led QM reviews in USA and Latin America.
