Presenters share strategies for building robust partnerships between universities and cities to enhance belonging for international students. Participants learn how to enhance belonging through intentional year-round programming and effectively coordinate belonging initiatives between a university and its local community.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a strategy to facilitate a robust partnership between university and city leaders to promote inclusion and belonging for international students.
  • Develop steps to implement, nurture, and grow a university-city partnership involving a university president and international office vice president and city mayor in promoting inclusion and belonging for international students.
  • Develop year-round programming and activities to support university-city partnerships and create a sense of belonging for international students
  • Employ strategies to avoid the challenges associated with planning, coordinating and implementing strategies in partnership between university and city leaders.
