The Future of Disability Inclusion: Perspectives from Professionals with Disabilities

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act, a panel of early career international exchange professionals with diverse disabilities share their experiences with access and inclusion. They offer strategies and future aspirations to build more inclusive cultures for international education professionals and participants.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore experiences of international exchange professionals with disabilities and develop strategies to effectively recruit, hire, and retain people with disabilities.
  • Utilize best practices, resources, and support available to incorporate principles of disability inclusion and foster a sense of belonging in workplaces and programs.
  • Develop an action plan to revise hiring outreach to encourage people with disabilities to apply, streamline disability accommodations process, and assess current and future strategies for disability inclusion.
