Manita Magar is the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Communications at the International House at UC Berkeley. With a background that spans across continents, Manita brings a unique perspective to her role. Originally from Nepal, she has studied in Nepal, Japan, and the United States, immersing herself in diverse cultures and developing a passion for intercultural understanding. She spearheads strategic marketing and communication plans and oversees all student community engagement initiatives in her current role. With a strong foundation in intercultural leadership and community development, Manita has successfully facilitated programs, such as the Global Leadership Program, and fostered external partnerships with organizations like Projects for Peace. Prior to her current role, Manita held various positions in project management at various organizations, including the Project Management Institution and the United States Education Foundation in Nepal. She holds a bachelor's degree in liberal arts (Social Sciences) from Soka University of America and has earned certifications in Project Management, NAFSA Management Development, Cultural Intelligence Facilitation, and more.
