Doctoral Candidate
The University of Georgia, Department of Sociology
Phattra is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Georgia (UGA). At the intersection of international higher education and immigration processes, her research examines the politics of international higher education. She investigates the relationship between the federal and state governments, universities, and nonimmigrant student visa holders. Phattra's upcoming qualitative dissertation specifically studies how the roles of ISSS (i.e., PDSO, DSO, university immigration services, and SEVIS) are crucial in sustaining and flourishing international education.
